Annual BGIS Global Safety Day – What’s my reason to be safe?

We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone at BGIS - the launch of our inaugural Annual BGIS Global Safety Day on October 3, 2023!

The significance of this day cannot be overstated, as it represents a global convergence of all BGIS regions under the banner of a core value that is paramount to us all - Safety. During this special occasion, we will honour Safety Champions, share inspiring safety anecdotes, and collaborate with our valued vendors to explore innovative solutions prioritizing safety above all else.

Our theme for this year's Global Safety Day is "making safety personal," captured by the question, "What's my reason to be safe?" Across our various regions, there will be diverse activities, some of which can be experienced virtually from anywhere in the world. This day will offer us a unique opportunity to pause and reflect on the motivations driving us to embrace safety principles, one of which is pausing for a few extra minutes to ensure a safer work environment.

Leading up to and on Global Safety Day, we have a lineup of exciting activities and events planned, including:

• A welcome from global leadership, including Gord Hicks, BGIS CEO, Mike Greidanus, President BGIS Canada/COO North America, Brian Fellows, COO BGIS US, Dana Nelson, President BGIS APAC and Gary Bullen, President BGIS UK and Europe, each of which are sharing their personal reason for working safely.
• Engaging Keynote Speakers delivering insightful Health, Safety, and Wellness sessions.
• In-person Vendor Presentations and Innovations demonstrating cutting-edge safety solutions from our global partners.
• An interactive session sharing the National Center for Healthy Housing’s “10 Principles of a Healthy Home” which will ask the question, How Healthy is Your Home?
• A Children’s Art Contest for young artists from our BGIS families across the globe.
• A panel discussion will engage participants in thought-provoking dialogue on "What's my reason to be safe?"
