We are excited to announce that BGIS’s Supplier Diversity Program is the winner of the prestigious CIPS Excellence in Procurement Award for Best Initiative to Build a Diverse Supply Base!
CIPS is the most prestigious global certification body for the procurement profession and the CIPS Excellence in Procurement Awards showcase and celebrate the best work and teams around the world. BGIS competed with leading Global Fortune 500’s for this award.
The CIPS judging panel of procurement experts determines which entries demonstrate best practices and the profession's highest standards. They were not disappointed as they felt the submissions this year were innovative, engaging and inspirational.
“BGIS believes supplier diversity and inclusion is an important contributor to our corporate mission of ensuring that we are being inclusive in our supply chain practices. We achieve this goal by providing organizations, which are at minimum 51 percent owned, controlled and managed by historically underutilized groups with an equal opportunity to become suppliers. Our supplier diversity process recognizes certified and self-identified businesses that are owned by women, Indigenous peoples, ethnic minorities, persons with disabilities, veterans or members of the LGBT+ community. We also consider small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in our diversity process. We believe in the importance of supplier diversity as it encourages the growth of these suppliers, who often face challenges when their businesses are in their infancy stages. Not only will these partnerships benefit our nation’s economy, but they provide us with new perspectives and opportunities through their wide-ranging expertise, enabling us to continuously provide innovative services and products to our clients. BGIS is a proud corporate member and supporter of Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business (CCAB), Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council (CAMSC), Women Business Enterprises Canada (WBE Canada) and Canada’s LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) in Canada as well as the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) in the U.S.”
Congratulations to our procurement team for this amazing feat! BGIS is passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I), and we are proud of how DE&I remains a top priority when our procurement team sources suppliers.
